About
I am a
multidisciplinary
artist with prime focus on painting and
drawing, I also work with installation, video, and photography.
My work blurs the line between flesh and feeling—where
distortion reveals deeper truths and vulnerability becomes a powerful form of
expression.
I see the human form as a site of psychological and existential inquiry. Through a process of deconstruction, the work
evokes themes of alienation, trauma, and corporeal vulnerability. Figures are
rendered in states of flux—distorted yet deeply expressive, inviting viewers
into a liminal space between representation and abstraction.
I interrogate the self as fragmented and mutable. The work
resists conventional narratives, opting instead for a raw, visceral aesthetic
that foregrounds the tensions between beauty and brutality, presence and
disintegration.
The figures in my paintings are not portraits in the
traditional sense, but manifestations of inner states—fragmented, exposed, and
deeply human. Each piece invites confrontation and contemplation, challenging
viewers to reflect on the hidden facets of identity, suffering, and desire. An
uncompromising exploration of the human condition.
My preferred medium in painting is oils. The multiple
layers of paint on the canvas depict the multilayered themes behind the work
and the subject. The image is developed by adding and subtracting layers, by
using a restricted palette and by optical blending through the use of broken
colors.
Inspiration comes from my surroundings, events, news,
personal experiences and travel. I rely on images from newspapers, magazines
and personal images. Working from images instead of models I allow my emotions,
feelings and memories to drive the composition.
Video and installation allows me to move away from the two dimensions of a
canvas and complement the viewer’s experience by engaging their auditory and
tactical senses more fully.
I am curerntly based in
Seminole, Florida, USA.
Previously I was in London, England
where I exhibited in various venues across London. My work can be found in
private and public collections across the world.
