2020

The year the world counted its dead out loud. These figures do not represent loss, they carry it. Paint built and stripped back through months of isolation, of names becoming numbers, of grief with nowhere to go. The triptych does not illustrate the pandemic. It  captures how that time actually felt. The weight before the weight had a name, the silence after. What we could not say to each other across the distance we were told to keep.
