Unconscious Bias
A portrait laid
over a colonial print, parts of the face cut away. The missing pieces are in a
fire box mounted on the wall. In Case of Unconscious Bias Break Glass. The work
asks nothing. It simply holds up the glass. The face is fragmented. The pieces
that complete it are behind glass. You could break it. Almost no one does. The
title is an instruction almost no one will follow. That gap is where the piece
lives.
